Sony Pictures Bringing ‘Social Network’ Back to Theaters

Sony Pictures Jan. 5 said it is bringing The Social Network back to 600 theaters beginning Jan. 7, in an effort to hype the film for the upcoming awards season and its physical and digital retail bow Jan. 11 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Sony said the movie is poised to surpass $200 million in global box office revenue in the coming days.
Amazon is pre-selling Network on Blu-ray Disc for $16.99 — 52% off its $34.95 SRP; and $12.99 on DVD ($28.96 SRP). The Blu-ray includes eight hours of bonus material.
Network has received four honors from the National Board of Review, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actor for Jesse Eisenberg for his portrayal of Facebook CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg.
It received six Golden Globe nominations, including Best Picture – Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Original Score and nominations for Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield; two nominations from the Screen Actors Guild, including Ensemble and Eisenberg for Best Actor; as well as nominations for Best Picture from the Producers Guild of America and Best Adapted Screenplay from the Writers Guild of America.
