Shout! Factory to Distribute ‘Marvel Knights’ Motion Comics

Shout! Factory has expanded its content partnership with Marvel Animation to include U.S. home entertainment distribution for the “Marvel Knights Animation” line-up of motion comics on DVD.

“Marvel Knights” motion comics take popular stories by the likes of Joss Whedon, Brian Michael Bendis, John Romita Jr., Warren Ellis, John Cassaday and Adi Granov, and apply animation techniques to the comic book graphics, adding sound effects and voiceovers to bring the story to life. Titles include Astonishing X-Men: Gifted, Black Panther, Iron Man: Extremis, Spider-Woman and more, with the first DVD slated for late fall 2010, according to Shout! Factory.

Lionsgate’s recent Planet Hulk disc included previews of the X-Men and Spider-Woman motion comics.

Shout! Factory earlier this year picked up DVD rights to Marvel’s “Super Hero Squad Show” animated series.
