Universal’s home entertainment division is getting a makeover with a global focus under new leader Eddie Cunningham, and will be called Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
The new global team will be headquartered in Los Angeles.
Cunningham will establish separate U.S. and Canadian operating companies to service those territories, and Universal will also keep its nine international offices.
John Morici, previously Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s chief operating officer and chief financial officer, will be the EVP and regional managing director of the U.S. and Canadian operating companies. John Melluso, formerly VP, sales, will be the managing director of the Canadian operating company, reporting to Morici.
Michael Bonner will continue to oversee the domestic digital distribution side of Universal’s home entertainment group as EVP of digital distribution for UPHE, reporting to Universal Pictures president and chief distribution officer Peter Levinsohn.
Melanie Laithwaite, previously Universal Pictures International Entertainment’s EVP of business affairs and operations, is now EVP of business affairs and business operations for UPHE.
Hilary Hoffman, Universal Studios Home Entertainment’s EVP of marketing, now becomes EVP of marketing for UPHE.
Paul Chesney, previously UPIE’s SVP of international operations and licensees, takes the global role of EVP of operations for UPHE.
John Revill, previously UPIE’s SVP and regional managing director of sales, insights and catalog and TV marketing, is the new EVP of global partners and sales.
Glenn Ross, who heads the company’s home entertainment original productions arm, will continue in the role as EVP of Universal 1440 Entertainment.
Helen Parker, who heads the company’s international acquisitions and production business, will continue in that role as EVP and managing director of A&R.
Continuing in their current roles are Ian Foster, regional managing director, United Kingdom and Japan; Pauline Grimaldi d’Esdra, regional managing director, France; Dirk Lisowsky, regional managing director, Germany, Austria, Switzerland; and Jim Batchelor, managing director, Australia, a joint venture with Sony.
Cunningham, who has relocated to Los Angeles and reports to Levinsohn, formerly led Universal’s international home entertainment group in London.
