Rich Mallery, senior director, digital marketing and sales
Mallery oversees all aspects of eOne’s digital and on-demand sales and marketing. He has developed relationships with clients such as inDemand, iTunes, Amazon, Xbox and Vubiquity, positioning eOne as a leading independent in the digital space.
Prior to taking on the senior director role, Mallery served as director of marketing and product development for eOne’s home entertainment division, where he implemented marketing plans and release strategies, and managed the entire life cycle for all home video film and TV releases.
Mallery previously was eOne’s video label manager, partnering with several third-party studios distributed by eOne as well as managing inventory, product development and marketing.
GAIAM VIVENDI
Yolanda Macias, head of business development and digital distribution
Macias pioneered the strategy for Vivendi Entertainment’s digital distribution service and has brokered distribution deals across key digital accounts to support predominant consumption models. While she and her digital team continue to over-index year-over-year industry growth, Macias also supervises TV sales and distribution. On top of that, Macias finds innovative ways to distribute content across windows and platforms, while managing the margin challenges in the marketplace.
Macias has held executive positions at The Walt Disney Co., Technicolor and DirecTV.
Mike Pears, VP, digital distribution
As a critical player in enhancing Vivendi’s digital distribution business, Pears’ priority is helping Gaiam Vivendi’s studio partners maximize the opportunity and revenue that digital distribution offers across all release windows and business models. His daily responsibilities include assisting studio partners in planning and implementing traditional and non-traditional release strategies. Pears and his team make it a priority to secure the best possible placement and promotion for each title with their extensive work in developing and executing marketing plans.
Pears previously held positions with the Recording Industry Association of America, SoundExchange and Ernst & Young.
Eric Lemasters, VP, digital business development
Lemasters secured digital partners across various platforms to build Gaiam’s digital distribution division. He continues to develop digital products and paths to new distribution platforms and partnerships, including broadband, mobile, TV VOD, broadcast, hospitality and gaming consoles.
Lemasters is also expanding distribution with an over-the-top strategy and forging partnerships for GaiamTV, the company’s SVOD platform.
Prior to Gaiam, Lemasters was head of new media at Bravo Merchandising and VP of digital and business development at Entertainment One Distribution, where he advanced the company’s digital distribution strategy across audio and video formats.
HBO
Jeremy Strauss, VP, global digital distribution, home entertainment group
Strauss is responsible for identifying and executing digital distribution opportunities for the company’s original programming around the world. Prior to joining HBO, Strauss worked in the music industry in various roles, leading the effort to develop new models and offerings to encourage the legitimate consumption of digital music.
RLJ
Miguel Penella, CEO, RLJ Entertainment
Since taking on the CEO role of RLJ Entertainment (which owns Image Entertainment and Acorn Media Group) in early 2013, Penella has been focused on monetizing his company’s content via new and established digital venues, specifically with the development of proprietary streaming TV channels. Previously, Penella was CEO of Acorn, managing all business operations for the company. Before that, he was president of Acorn Direct, the company’s direct-to-consumer division.
STARZ
Jodi Robinson, VP, Internet and interactive technology, Starz
Robinson has been responsible for the direction and execution of Starz’s TV Everywhere platform and client applications. Starz Play, Encore Play and MoviePlex Play enable authenticated access for the company’s premium subscribers. She also leads the company’s interactive TV and advanced services development efforts.
Before coming to Starz in 2006, she was a software architect at Level 3 Communications.
Mara Winokur, SVP, digital media, business development and strategy, Starz Digital Media
Winokur serves as the lead executive for the division, charged with overseeing every aspect of the company’s digital business, covering film, TV and other digital content. She oversees a team that covers all licensing, syndication and digital distribution of Starz content.
