Distributor Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment will use Allied Vaughn’s manufacturing-on-demand (MOD) DVD service to distribute hundreds of titles via online retailers, the companies announced.
The MOD agreement covers health and fitness brands and more than 500 National Geographic titles from Gaiam Vivendi.
“Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment is one the fastest-growing content aggregators on the planet, merging their own collection of health and lifestyle programming along with noted entertainment brands,” said Allied Vaughn president Doug Olzenak. “The advantages of on-demand disc technology are that it allows Gaiam titles to have availability to the consumer through a very large and growing group of major online retailers and never be out of stock or back-ordered.
Allied Vaughn also has MOD agreements with Cinram, Questar Entertainment, MGM, Sony Pictures, MTV, Monarch Home Video, VCI, American Pop Classics and others.
