Vudu Coming to Chromecast

Vudu is headed to Chromecast, marking yet another app addition for the $35 USB dongle from Google.

Chromecast now offers Netflix, HBO Go, Hulu Plus, Pandora, YouTube, Red Bull TV, Google Play (both music and video), Vevo, Songza, Plex, PostTV, Viki and RealPlayer Cloud. Walmart-owned Vudu is currently accepting beta testers for the Vudu app on Chromecast.

“You asked. We listened. And it’s coming soon,” read a Vudu blog post regarding the Chromecast app. “A Google Chromecast device lets you ‘cast’ video streamed from Vudu on your smartphone, tablet, PC or Mac directly to a television. No smart TV, DVD [or] Blu-ray player, game console or set-top box needed. While casting, you can use your device as a remote control or even a ‘second screen’, which means you multi-taskers can continue doing the ten other things you usually do while watching that TV episode.”
