Time Warner Cable Launches HBO Go6 Jan, 2012 By: Chris Tribbey
Time Warner Cable launched a beta test of HBO Go and MAX Go for some of its subscribers Jan. 6, with every HBO and Cinemax customer set to have access to current and catalog titles on portable devices later this month.
TWC subscribers will have remote access to more than 1,400 titles, while Cinemax subscribers will have access to more than 400 titles, the cable operator said.
“People want this app as quickly as possible — the input that I’ve been getting from our customer base hit its peak six months ago, and it’s been at a steady, high gush ever since,” Jeff Simmermon, director of digital communications for Time Warner, wrote in a blog post.
The beta test is limited to PCs, Macs and laptops, he wrote, with a rollout to iPhones, iPads and smartphones expected in roughly a week.
