Roku Reaches 1 Billion Streams of Content

The Saratoga, Calif.-based company said its user-base now rivals that of a top 10 cable operator. Roku offers 130 third-party content channels, including Amazon VOD movies, Hulu Plus, MLB.tv and NHL Game Center, among others. Last month, it sold its 1 millionth media player.
Roku said its media players averaged more than 11 hours of playing time per week — a significant amount when compared to the national average of 36 hours TV viewing per week.
