SVOD service offers exclusive streaming access to feature-film ‘Do You Believe?’

Faith-based streaming service Pure Flix Digital announced it is now available on Google Chromecast and Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Pure Flix Digital launched last summer offering 3,000 feature-length movies, documentaries and episodic family friendly programming accessible via Roku, iOS and Google apps for use on smartphones, tablets, laptops/PCs and Smart TVs.

Content includes exclusive streaming access to Christian movie Do You Believe? and “VeggieTales,” a series of animated videos for children — the latter also available on Cinedigm’s SVOD service, Dove Channel.

“The addition of support for these two product lines from Amazon and Google gives consumers more options when it comes to streaming content that their families want to watch,” CEO Greg Gudorf said in a statement. “Families are looking for alternatives to today’s mainstream, Hollywood fare and we’re helping them stream it … whether they’re at home or on the road.”

Pure Flix (together with Cinedigm) hit a home run in 2014 with theatrical release God’s Not Dead, which jumpstarted a moribund faith-based movie market generating $60.8 million at the box office on a $2 million production budget. The title sold another $22 million in combined DVD and Blu-ray Disc sales, according to The-Numbers.com.

Gudorf, former COO at MGO.com, joined Pure Flix last September, along with former Sony Electronics executive Brian Pancarik as VP of operations and support.
