Nielsen Adds Mobile Viewing to TV, Digital Ratings

Nielsen will begin incorporating mobile viewing into its TV and digital ratings, a nod to the changing ways audiences are consuming content.
Nielsen plans on incorporating audiences viewing TV content on digital devices into traditional its TV measurement, starting with the 2014-15 TV season.
“We’ve been working hard to deliver this new [software development kit] and are excited to be able to deliver a single client solution that supports both the linear (TV style) and dynamic (Internet style) ad models,” said Megan Clarken, EVP and global product leader for Nielsen. “This unified encoding approach for video enables measurement to follow content across screens and ad models.”
