Netflix Completes European Trek

Netflix completed service launches in four remaining countries of its six-nation European campaign Sept. 15-19. The streaming pioneer Sept. 19 bowed service in Belgium (www.Netflix.be) and Luxembourg (Netflix.lu), following launches Sept. 17-18 in Austria (Netflix.at) and Switzerland (Netflix.ch).
Netflix bowed service in France (Netflix.fr) and Germany (Netflix.de) Sept. 15-16, the latter in Berlin, which featured cast and crew from select Netflix original series such as “Orange Is the New Black,” “From Dusk Till Dawn” and “Hemlock Grove.”
Notably missing: “House of Cards,” which is distributed in Europe by Sony Pictures Television and offered by Sky Deutschland in Germany.
The starting subscription price in Europe is 7.99 euros monthly, with the exception of Switzerland, which is priced at €9.85. The Alpine country will also get its first look at Netflix originals such as “BoJack Horseman,” “Fargo” and “Penny Dreadful,” in addition to “Orange Is the New Black,” “From Dusk Till Dawn” and “Hemlock Grove,” among others.
