NBC Expands 'Sports Gold' Streaming Video Service to Include Pro Motocross

24 Apr, 2017 By: Erik Gruenwedel

NBC Universal April 24 announced its “Sports Gold” over-the-top video subscription service now features professional motocross. The OTT service represents corporate parent Comcast's baby steps bowing standalone streaming service separate from linear pay-TV.

Launched last year with a $20 “cycling pass,” featuring the Tour de France, Vuelta a España and Monument Classics such as the Paris Roubaix, among others, "Sports Gold" now includes the $49.99 “pro motocross pass” running through May 18, 2018, showcasing the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series.

Motocross can also be streamed live in the U.K., Germany, Sweden, Canada, Ireland, Denmark, Switzerland, Holland, Austria, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg and Japan.

“Track & field pass” ($69.99) is available through Dec. 31 featuring IAAF World Relays, USA vs. The World Penn Relays, Nike Prefontaine Classic, Diamond League and IAAF World Championships, among other events.

The “rugby pass” ($29.99 through June 15) showcases Aviva Premiership Rugby.

“As digital consumption of live sports events continues to grow, NBC Sports Gold complements our linear and TV Everywhere offerings by making additional NBC Sports coverage available to cycling fans,” Rick Cordella, SVP/GM, digital media at NBC Sports Group, said in a statement last year for "cycling pass."
