In 2012, Jake Caputo, a Chicago software designer, launched a website — www.takemymoneyhbo.com — challenging HBO to launch a standalone subscription streaming service similar to Netflix.
Prior to the April 7 rollout of HBO Now, the premium channel’s over-the-top video service, HBO invited Caputo to New York to interview him for the occasion.
What they didn’t tell Caputo was that they had also invited Salvatore "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero, a fictional character on “The Sopranos” and played by Vincent Pastore, along with "Paulie Walnuts" Gualtieri (Tony Sirico), to intimidate him.
In an April 8 , Caputo said it seemed strange HBO wanted to fly him to New York for the HBO Now launch.
“They lied to me. They tricked me. And I loved every minute of it,” Caputo wrote.
