Dove Channel Ups Licensed Content

12 Jul, 2016 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Dove Channel, the subscription streaming video service owned by Cinedigm, July 12 announced an agreement to acquire 45 films and 10 series from Bridgestone Multimedia Group (BMG), a producer and distributor of family friendly, faith-based films.

In addition to Dove Channel, Cinedigm’s foray into over-the-top video distribution includes CONtv, a comic book convention themed channel in partnership with Wizard World, and Docurama, a service catering to documentaries.

The BMG library includes Max Lucado’s Traveling Light, Different Drummers, Road to the Open (starring Eric Roberts, Judd Nelson, John Schneider), Pitching Love and Catching Faith, “The Sugar Creek Gang,” and “Character Builders.”

Combined with current and recently acquired titles, Dove Channel’s library of more than 3,600 titles ranks as the largest library of faith-based & family-friendly content in the OTT marketplace.

Cinedigm, which is the largest independent distributor of packaged and digital media, will make the Bridgestone programming available on Dove Channel over the next several months, beginning in August.

“We are thrilled to partner with Bridgestone Multimedia Group as we continue to fulfill our mission of expanding our library and broadening our content offering with new, faith-based and family friendly content,” Erick Opeka, EVP of digital networks at Cinedigm, said in a statement.
