Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the creation of a new division, the Worldwide Commercial group, to oversee all commercial activity for its global business
Heading the group will be Matt Brown, who has been named EVP of Worldwide Commercial, reporting to David Bishop, Worldwide President of SPHE.
Brown, who was previously EVP of North American and International, now adds oversight for all commercial initiatives in Europe to his current portfolio of responsibilities, which had included North American and International (excluding Europe).
Additionally, Aodan Coburn, EVP of worldwide operations and licensing, has been given expanded responsibilities and will work closely with Brown to manage Latin America, Asia Pacific and the emerging markets. Coburn also will continue with his current focus on global licensing and supply chain. Coburn will report to Brown on all commercial matters and to Bishop for operations and supply chain.
“Creating a single, global commercial enterprise that is both focused and nimble is a timely and strategic response to the challenges of an evolving business environment,” Bishop said. “Additionally, this places our commercial initiatives in line with those of our other departments — marketing, digital and operations — which are all worldwide in scope.”
