'Fat Albert' Gets a Fat Boxed Set

Shout! Factory July 31 will release Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids: The Complete Series as a 16-DVD set at $119.99.

“Fat Albert” was created, produced and hosted by Bill Cosby, who also voiced several characters, and ran on CBS from 1972 through 1985.

The set will include all 110 episodes of the franchise, including 36 episodes of “Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids,” 24 episodes of “The New Fat Albert Show” and 50 episodes of “The Adventures of Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids.” Seasons two through four of the latter have never before been released on DVD.

Extras include commentaries by Cosby, a documentary on the history of the show and a booklet containing an essay by Dr. Gordon Berry, the show’s educational advisor.
