Sony, Samsung Get New Best Buy Retail Space

Samsung Electronics and Sony Electronics are both getting dedicated floor space at Best Buys nationwide to help promote their consumer electronics devices.

Launching in mid-May, Sony Experience at Best Buy will hit be seen at approximately 350 Best Buy stores nationwide, offering interactive demonstration areas and dedicated experts on Sony products.

HDTVs, 4K Ultra-HD TVs, 4K Ultra-HD media players, camcorder, home theater sound solutions, the PlayStation 4 and more will be promoted. The interactive displays will allow shoppers to compare screen resolutions, view broadcast and Blu-ray-quality content, using a touch screen.

“We welcome consumers to experience the best of Sony with a premium and unique shopping experience at Best Buy,” said Mike Fasulo, president and COO of Sony Electronics. “With user-friendly, interactive demonstration experiences and a dedicated team of Best Buy product experts trained to deliver a world-class experience, the Sony Experience at Best Buy will be an ideal place to inspire, engage and educate consumers about Sony’s home theater products.”

Mike Mohan, Best Buy’s chief merchandising officer, added: “The Sony Experience will give consumers a shopping experience unlike anything before. Our newly transformed home theater areas will, for the first time, allow customers to test, try and experience how all of the Sony products work together.”

The Samsung Entertainment Experience will be coming to approximately 500 U.S. Best Buys, and will be centered around Samsung’s Ultra-HD TV lineup, including its curved Ultra-HD TVs. Home audio products will also be strongly featured. Samsung-trained Best Buy employees will be on hand.
