Projections: 'Pitch Perfect' Sequel Ready to Sing

In what should be a pretty good week for Universal, newcomer Pitch Perfect 2 is set to be the No. 1 title the week ending Sept. 27, with Furious 7 on track to have a strong second week.
The musically inclined comedy grossed $183.8 million in U.S. theaters, almost triple that of its predecessor, which became a cult hit thanks to home video.
Disney's live-action Cinderella also should have a strong second week.
On the rental chart, Warner's Mad Max: Fury Road looks set to move to the top spot, coming off a month-long holdback from Redbox a week early than usual for the studio's titles.
