Projections: 'Logan Lucky,' 'Hitman's Bodyguard' Among Contenders
4 Dec, 2017 By: John Latchem
A week after Black Friday sales pushed some older titles back onto the charts, Universal's Logan Lucky leads a modest slate of new releases, while holdovers such as Lionsgate's The Hitman's Bodyguard will look to make a move to the top of the charts the week ending Dec. 2.
Their ability to do so depends on how much the retail flow returns to "normalcy" after the post-Thanksgiving rush but leading into the holiday season. Given the relative low-profile of the titles in question, it wouldn't be surprising to see popular hits such as Wonder Woman and Spider-Man: Homecoming continue to thrive in high chart spots.
On the rental chart for the week ending Dec. 3, Hitman's Bodyguard could take the top spot for a second week, while Universal's Kidnap comes off a month-long holdback from Redbox rental kiosks to challenge it.
