Projections: 'Lego Batman,' 'John Wick' Ready to Fight for Top Chart Spot
19 Jun, 2017 By: John Latchem
The two big new releases from the past week, Warner's The Lego Batman Movie and Lionsgate's John Wick Chapter 2, should have strong debuts on the home video charts the week ending June 18.
The animated Lego Batman Movie, having earned $175.75 million at the domestic box office, is the most likely choice for taking over the No. 1 spot, having crossover appeal to both families and superhero fans.
John Wick Chapter 2 more than doubled the box office take of its predecessor with $92 million in U.S. theaters, and earned wide critical acclaim for its stylized action sequences.
The John Wick sequel should debut in the top spot on the weekly rental chart.
