Projections: 'Girl on the Train' Pulling Into the Station
23 Jan, 2017 By: John Latchem
Universal's The Girl on the Train should be the top-selling title on the home video charts the week ending Jan. 22.
Based on a popular novel, the film earned $75.4 million at the domestic box office and, though not as critically well received, offers a mystery thriller in the vein of Gone Girl that might entice home viewers.
Other newcomers such as Fox's Keeping Up With the Jonses and Universal's Ouija: Origin of Evil didn't receive the same level of retail attention and thus will have to compete with strong holdiers such as Lionsgate's Deepwater Horizon and Warner's The Accountant for a top chart spot.
On the weekly rental chart, Deepwater Horizon is expected to hold onto the top spot for another week.
