Projections: 'Expendables' Competes With Black Friday
26 Nov, 2012 By: John Latchem
Post-Thanksgiving Black Friday sales usually cause havoc on the sales charts, as deep-discounted catalog titles and some newer releases that had fallen by the wayside re-emerge.
All things being equal, however, the top-selling and renting title for the week ending Nov. 25 should be Lionsgate’s action-packed The Expendables 2.
Other holdovers that should perform well throughout the Thanksgiving week are Disney/Pixar’s Brave and Sony Pictures’ The Amazing Spider-Man.
Disney also debuted a new direct-to-video family film, Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups, which should perform well but may get overlooked in the holiday rush.
