Projections: A 'Dirty' Challenge for 'Deadpool'
23 May, 2016 By: John Latchem
Fox's Deadpool could top the disc sales charts for a second week if it holds off a challenge from Lionsgate's Dirty Grandpa the week ending May 22.
The raunchy comedy earned just $35.6 million at the domestic box office, pacing the week's new releases. Also vying for a top spot is Lionsgate's The Witch, a horror film that garnered critical acclaim and earned $25.1 million in U.S. theaters.
On the rental chart, Fox's The Revenant comes off its month-long holdback from Redbox kiosks and should take the top spot, with the two Lionsgate newcomers also debuting highly.
