Cinram Subsidiary Files for Insolvency

Cinram Optical Discs SAS, a French subsidiary of the Toronto-based replicator, has filed for insolvency, the company announced May 29.

Cinram Optical Discs SAS, which both manufactures and distributes discs in France, will have its application for insolvency heard May 31. Cinram stressed in a press release that “insolvency proceedings will not impact Cinram’s distribution operations in France nor its operations in other regions.”

The replicator blamed the issue on a steady decline in DVD manufacturing volumes in recent years.
