Kaplan Returns to Coinstar

Gregg A. Kaplan, president and COO of Redbox parent Coinstar, has returned to the company following a two-month absence due to an illness in the family, the company said April 2.

J. Scott Di Valerio, the company’s CFO, served as interim president of Redbox, while Paul Davis, Coinstar’s CEO, assumed the duties of president and COO of Coinstar, while Kaplan was away.

Meanwhile, Redbox continues to search for its next president. In July 2011, Redbox president Mitch Lowe announced he was resigning from the company to pursue “entrepreneurial and other interests.”
