Fox/MGM DVDs Go Pink for the Cure

19 Aug, 2008 By: Billy Gil

For the second year, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and MGM Home Entertainment have teamed with Susan G. Komen for the Cure on a DVDs for the Cure promotion.

Coming just before National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, 15 romantic comedies will street Sept. 23 at $14.98 each, in special pink packaging. The studios will donate 50 cents of each unit sale to the organization, with a minimum total donation of $100,000.

“We were thrilled at the outpouring of support for last year’s campaign,” said Steve Feldstein, SVP of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. “It’s great that we can provide individuals with the ability to support the fight against breast cancer by doing something so simple — offering them their favorite romantic comedies to watch.”

Five titles join last year’s selection: Edward Scissorhands, The Princess Bride, Just My Luck, Little Miss Sunshine and When Harry Met Sally. The previous titles, still included in the promotion, are A Walk in the Clouds, An Affair to Remember, Ever After, In Her Shoes, Legally Blonde, Moulin Rouge, Never Been Kissed, Say Anything, Thelma & Louise and There’s Something About Mary.
