Anchor Bay Entertainment and The Weinstein Co. are using ice cream, Radio Flyer scooters and the lure of Jamaica to promote Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil, the animated sequel to the hit 2006 “Little Red Riding Hood” spoof.
Starting on its Aug. 16 DVD and Blu-ray Disc street date, Hoodwinked Too! will have its own “Storybook Strawberry” ice cream at more than 160 Dippin’ Dots locations, with the chain also giving away DVDs and promoting the title in stores. Additionally, Anchor Bay is running a giveaway promotion that will send one family to Jamaica for a four-day stay.
“We really wanted to play up the fun and playful nature of this film,” said Jennifer Roberts, SVP of marketing for Anchor Bay Entertainment. “And we pulled all the partners together for the grand prize.”
Beaches Resorts and Delta Vacations are taking care of the grand-prize Jamaica trip, with the package also including a gallon of Dippin’ Dots ice cream and a Dippin’ Dots-themed prize pack. Fifteen other winners will get a Radio Flyer customizable scooter, while one other winner will receive a Dippin’ Dots party for 30 guests, featuring ice cream, a Hoodwinked Too! combo pack and soundtrack CD.
The first 25 people to enter the contest will be awarded with a DVD.
The animated title features the voices of Hayden Panettiere, Glenn Close, Amy Poehler, David Alan Grier, Martin Short, Heidi Klum, Wayne Newton, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. Anchor Bay is releasing the title on DVD ($29.98), Blu-ray ($34.99) and as a 3D Blu-ray combo pack with DVD and digital copy ($39.99).
