MPAA Launches Site for Legal Movie, TV Viewing
15 May, 2013 By: Chris TribbeyThe Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has launched a new website pointing people to legitimate online portals to watch legal movie and TV content.
WheretoWatch.org features a plain design, listing dozens of sites and applications where consumers can watch legal content. Sections are divided into “Search Tools,” Where to Watch TV/Movies,” “Where to Watch Movies Only” and “Where to Watch TV Only.”
“Audiences want seamless access to film and TV shows. Our industry has listened, and we are now delivering more choices that ever before,” said former Sen. Chris Dodd, chairman and CEO of the MPAA. “There have never been more ways to access movies and television legitimately online, and those platforms continue to grow and develop, thanks in large part to a copyright system that encourages innovation, risk and growth. The companies I represent are committed to continuing to create and develop the best ways for audiences to enjoy the entertainment they love.”
The service lists only content sites in the United States and includes what platforms the service covers, what content is available, how they’re supported and what devices are compatible.
