Shout! Factory Pushes ‘Piranha’ to August

Days after announcing its deal to distribute the Roger Corman film library, Shout! Factory is already shuffling the release schedule.

What was to be the initial title in the line, the April 6 DVD release of Piranha, has been pushed to Aug. 3. Shout! Factory attributed the schedule change to wanting more time to finalize the bonus content.

The “Roger Corman’s Cult Classics” line now kicks off May 4 with Rock ‘n’ Roll High School (DVD and Blu-ray) and Suburbia (DVD). Due June 22 are Death Race 2000 (DVD and Blu-ray) and a Warlords of the 21st Century/Deathsport double-feature DVD. July 20 sees the DVD releases of Forbidden World, Galaxy of Terror and a double-feature DVD of Attack of the Crab Monster and Not of This Earth. Aug. 3 sees the release of Piranha (DVD and Blu-ray), Humanoids From the Deep (DVD) and an Up From the Depths/Demon of Paradise DVD double feature. Arriving Sept. 7 is Starcrash (DVD and Blu-ray) and Battle Beyond the Stars (DVD). Sept. 28 sees the release of 1978’s Not of This Earth (DVD) and a DVD double feature of Time Walker and Death Space.
