30 May, 2014 By: Chris Tribbey

NCircle Entertainment founder Debbie Ries and former NCircle VP of sales and business development Alexandra Ries have joined PBS Distribution, the company announced. The two left NCircle in March.

Debbie Ries has been named managing director of children’s distribution for PBS Distribution, while Alexandra Ries will serve as senior director of children’s distribution. Working out of Dallas, the two will be charged with maximizing home entertainment revenue for the company’s children’s programming. They will report to PBS Distribution co-president Andrea Downing.

“PBS Distribution has a deep catalog of children’s properties that provide families with fun and entertaining content built on educational frameworks including ‘Dinosaur Train,’ ‘Wild Kratts,’ ‘Peg + Cat’ and more. PBS distributes the programs parents and educators trust and that kids love,” Downing said. “Debbie and Alex’s proven track record in leading and growing children’s media brands will be invaluable to PBS Distribution and our producing partners as we continue to expand our kids’ distribution business and the roster of series we represent.”

Debbie Ries founded NCircle Entertainment in 2006 and has more than 25 years of experience in the children’s media business. Before that she served as global SVP of HIT Entertainment.

"I am thrilled to be joining the PBS Distribution team," she said. "The high-quality, children’s educational programming on PBS was very important to me for my own family and I am excited to serve today’s families, and help strengthen public media, by broadening the distribution of outstanding content."

Alexandra Ries was with NCircle for eight years, where she handled sales, retail marketing and new business development.
