Entertainment network Epix Jan. 13 said it has hired Jocelyn Diaz as EVP of original programming. Diaz, former VP of production at Walt Disney Studios, has more than 12 years experience producing and overseeing TV series and films at Disney, HBO and ABC Television.
Epix, which is a joint venture between Viacom, Lionsgate, MGM and Paramount Pictures, has been one of the first multiplatform content distributors. In recent years it has focused on proprietary documentaries and niche programing.
“With Jocelyn on board, we’re going to be able to take this to a new level with original scripted series that resonate with our viewers,” CEO Mark Greenberg said in a statement.
In her previous role at Disney, Diaz oversaw all aspects of live-action feature development and production, including Into the Woods and Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Prior to that, she was head of drama series and VP at HBO, where she managed pilot and series launches, including “Boardwalk Empire” and “Big Love.” She also worked on “Lost,” “Ugly Betty,” “Pushing Daisies,” “NYPD Blue,” “The Practice” and “The Drew Carey Show” while at ABC.
