Bill Bromiley Named President of Newly Created Saban Films
7 May, 2014 By: Erik GruenwedelBill Bromiley has departed RLJ Entertainment to become president of Saban Films, a new North American distribution company introduced May 6 by entertainment mogul Haim Saban at the Cannes Film Festival.
Saban Films plans to acquire upwards of 10 movies a year for distribution across multiple channels, including digital and physical.
For the past six years, Bromiley was chief acquisitions officer at RLJE subsidiary Image Entertainment. In February, Bromiley was instrumental in RLJE acquiring the rights to the next installment of the “Cabin Fever” franchise, Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, starring Sean Astin ("The Lord of the Rings"), among others.
“The film distribution business is ever-changing as the audiences’ choices of consuming entertainment expand every day,” Bromiley said in a statement. “There is still a need for smart, commercial product that is marketed and distributed properly. We have a low-risk, high-reward distribution business model, which is attractive for filmmakers.”
