‘Paranormal Activity’ Download Bows Before Disc

Paramount Home Entertainment will debut Paranormal Activity 3 as part of a digital download prior to DVD and Blu-ray Disc, with all three “Paranormal Activity” films available as one seamless, chronological experience.
Paranormal Activity 3 also is set to be the studio’s first UltraViolet-enabled release, making Paramount the fourth major studio to release a title enabled with the buy once, play anywhere digital format.
Paramount has not announced a street date or pricing for the Paranormal Activity: The Chronology digital offering. The Jan. 24 combo pack of Paranormal Activity 3 is priced at $39.99 and includes both theatrical and unrated versions of the film, along with footage not seen in theaters.
A DVD-only release ($19.99) of the theatrical version of Paranormal Activity 3 will be available nationwide on Feb. 14, while Walmart will have the exclusive unrated DVD that day. Both will include a digital copy compatible with iTunes and Windows Media.
