Viacom Content Hits CreateSpace

2 Sep, 2008 By: Chris Tribbey

Content from Viacom’s MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and VH1 networks is now available on Amazon.com’s CreateSpace DVD on Demand service.

CreateSpace is a service that manufactures DVDs shortly after they are ordered by customers online. The service aims to cut down on brick-and-mortar physical inventory concerns and every DVD comes with standard Content Scramble System (CSS) copy protection.

“Through CreateSpace and Amazon.com, we’re providing our fans expanded and exclusive access to some of the most iconic and pop culture-defining MTV and VH1 programming in our library,” said Alan Ferguson, VP of home entertainment sales for MTV Networks Music and Logo Group.

The first seasons of “Drake & Josh,” “Hey Arnold,” “Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew” and “Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County” are now available on CreateSpace, with “My Super Sweet 16,” “True Life” and “Comedy Central Presents” available in the coming weeks.

“MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and VHI produce some of the most popular shows on TV today, so this is an exciting opportunity for Amazon to exclusively provide our customers with … the opportunity to own some of their favorite TV series,” said Dana LoPiccolo-Giles, co-founder and managing director of CreateSpace.
