‘Amexicano' Acquired by Xenon10 Aug, 2008 By: Carrie Widder
Xenon Pictures has acquired the North American rights to the film Amexicano in a mid-six-figure deal.
The film, starring 2008 Grammy nominee Jennifer Peña, takes a look at the immigration issue by putting a face on undocumented day laborers in America. It also stars Manny Perez, Raul Castillo and Carmine Famiglietti. Famiglietti also wrote the film and co-produced with Matthew Bonifacio through their production company, The Brooklyn-Queens Experiment, in association with Madison Park Pictures.
Amexicano recently won the Grand Jury Prize for best narrative feature at the 2008 Sonoma Valley Film Festival. Xenon Pictures is looking to a spring or summer release.
