"Live By Request" Goes Video
11 Feb, 2002 By: Hive NewsColumbia Music Video is making available, for the first time on DVD and VHS, individual programs from "Live By Request," the Emmy award-winning interactive live television series as seen on A&E.
Already in stores are shows featuring Tony Bennett and Johnny Mathis. An Earth, Wind & Fire installment of Live By Request will be in stores Feb.26.
The Columbia Music Video DVD editions of Live By Request feature Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, interactive menus, instant access to songs, artist discographies and websites, as well as value-added material not seen in the original broadcasts.
"Live By Request" places superstar artists in an intimate setting and offers fans the opportunity to request favorite songs -- via telephone or the Internet -- throughout the live broadcast.
"Live By Request has earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Performance for a Variety or Music Program and a Cable ACE Award for Music Performance.
Live By Request was created by Tony Bennett and developed by his son and manager, Danny Bennett, with Columbia Records SVP of Broadcasting and Event Marketing Paul Rappaport and audio producer Mitch Maketansky.
