Liberation Goes with Ryko

Independent producer Liberation Entertainment Oct. 1 will begin distributing new and catalog DVDs via Ryko Distribution.

Genius Products previously distributed Liberation product with the exception of music DVDs, which are distributed by Adrenaline.

Liberation, with offices in Los Angeles and London, offers more than 300 films and 2,500 hours of television in its international catalog.

New theatrical acquisitions that will fall under the Ryko deal include Eden, from the producers of Once and winner of the Best Actress award at the Tribeca Film Festival; TOKYO! from directors Michel Gondry, Leos Carax and Bong Joon-ho; and Just Buried, starring Jay Baruchel (Tropic Thunder).

“We view this new partnership as a perfect fit for both companies,” said Liberation chairman and CEO Jay Boberg.
