Netflix Preinstalled on Barnes & Noble’s New Nook Tablet

The new Barnes & Noble Nook tablet will ship with Netflix preinstalled, the companies announced Nov. 7.

The tablet will have access to Netflix directly from the menu, with the ability to pull up titles to watch with a single touch.

"We believe that many Netflix members are also Nook users, and now they can use the device they embraced for reading to instantly watch movies and TV episodes streaming from Netflix," said Bill Holmes, Netflix VP of business development.

The new Nook can stream movies and TV episodes from Netflix in high definition quality on its 7-inch touchscreen via Wi-Fi, according to the companies.

Nook tablet users who aren't already Netflix members can sign up for a free 30-day trial. Owners of Nook Color also will be able to download the Netflix application.

Barnes & Noble announced the new tablets were scheduled to arrive in its stores next week, and that the company will promote the Netflix application in stores and in additional marketing plans.
