11 Jun, 2012 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Deal includes Oscar-nominated, 'My Week With Marilyn', Best Picture winner 'The King’s Speech' and hit zombie TV series “The Walking Dead,” among others

FlixFling, a Philadelphia-based subscription and transactional video-on-demand service, June 11 said it signed a distribution agreement with Starz Digital Media, a unit of Starz Media LLC, allowing it to make available numerous movies and TV series for rent and purchase.

Titles available for transactional VOD and electronic sellthrough (not streaming) include Best Picture Oscar-winner The King’s Speech; Best Actress Oscar-nominee My Week With Marilyn; TV series “The Walking Dead” and Starz original series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” and “Party Down”; and anime fan-favorites “Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex” and “Gurren Lagann.”

FlixFling’s digital locker storage system, MyFlix, facilitates instant play for these titles across all enabled devices. Unlimited streaming access on select movies in FlixFling’s 8,000-title catalog is $7.99 a month.

“We’re very excited to add Starz Digital Media to our catalog and bring these great movies and shows to our customers,” FlixFling CEO Tom Ashley said in a statement. “Their library is an excellent addition to our already robust catalog of over 8,000 titles.”
