4K content company LunaForge and 4K TV consumer electronics company Seiki Digital are launching an online competition for 4K video, with winners taking home 4K TVs and other hardware.
The winners will also have their submissions optimized for playback on YouTube. The contest will award the best submissions in 4K Narrative or Documentary, 4K Sports and Action, 4K Music Video and video with the most YouTube 4K Competition Channel views.
The contest is open to U.S. residents 18 and older, runs from July 1 to Sept. 30, and submissions must be shot on a digital camera with a native sensor size of 3,840-by-2,160 pixels or greater, and must be four minutes or less in running time.
“4K Ultra HD TVs are coming to living rooms across the country and consumers are looking for stimulating 4K content,” said LumaForge CEO Neil Smith. “We’re working closely with content creators to deliver 4K videos in the most cost-effective way. The 4K Content Competition will be an opportunity for filmmakers and musicians across America to showcase their amazing talents.”
Prizes include a Seiki 50-inch LED Ultra HD TV, a GoPro Hero3: Black Edition 4K capable camera, a Magma ExpressBox 1T Thunderbolt expansion chassis and a Samsung Chromebook.
