Target Offering 'True Detective' Exclusive

HBO Home Entertainment will re-release the first season of “True Detective” on Blu-ray June 2 in a limited-edition steelbook case exclusively at Target. The packaging features artwork created by Mondo originally used to promote the show in its original broadcast.

The first season of the anthology series starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as two detectives assigned to investigate a grisly and cultish murder case in the Louisiana bayou country. The Blu-ray steelbook set includes all of the bonus content featured on the original Blu-ray release, including interviews with McConaughey and Harrelson; conversations with writer Nic Pizzolatto, director Cary Joji Fukunaga and series composer T Bone Burnett; and additional footage from the series.
The re-release is timed for the June 21 premiere of the second season, which stars Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams, Taylor Kitsch and Kelly Reilly.
