Relativity, Fox Sign Disc Deal

10 Mar, 2011 By: Erik Gruenwedel

Theatrical producer Relativity Media and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment March 10 announced a multiyear distribution deal for the former’s future disc releases.

Under terms of the agreement, Fox will distribute DVD and Blu-ray Disc releases for Relativity’s upcoming titles Limitless, Immortals and their untitled “Snow White” film, among other titles not earmarked for the home entertainment market through separate third-party deals.

“The team at Fox is extremely talented, and incredibly well-regarded by customers, filmmakers and suppliers,” said Relativity COO Steve Bertram. “We are confident that we’ve found a terrific home for our upcoming projects.”

Relativity has been aggressively pursuing the home entertainment market (physical and digital) following last year’s acquisition of Overture’s marketing and distribution teams, a Netflix licensing agreement and a Technicolor partnership.

"Relativity has quickly proven that they are a force in the industry,” said Mike Dunn, president worldwide of TCFHE. “We are thrilled to partner with them to drive a very exciting slate of films."

Relativity’s recent films include Salt, Despicable Me, Grown Ups, Charlie St. Cloud, Dear John, It’s Complicated, Zombieland, Couples Retreat, Get Him to the Greek, Robin Hood and, most recently, The Fighter, Little Fockers, James Cameron's Sanctum in 3D, Season of the Witch, Take Me Home Tonight and The Social Network.
