Gaiam has come out with the second installment of its recently launched “CorePower Yoga” line.
Led this time by CorePower instructor Kumi, Calorie Blast features three 20-minute workouts, plus a seven-minute core segment, which aim to help users lose weight, build lean muscle and increase flexibility.
The “Ready to Sweat” segment is intended to burn calories through a more fast-paced energy yoga flow.
In “Strong Body, Strong Mind,” the poses in this flow are targeted to help tone the body.
“Yoga Sculpt” incorporates the optional use of hand weights for an added challenge to help sculpt the major muscle groups.
The bonus “CorePower Abs” is a short, fast-burn segment aimed at building core strength — that’s both the abs and the back.
Calorie Blast is a great follow-up to CorePower’s first release. The focus here is toning the body and building a strong body and lean physique. It’s great for beginners, but will still make more experienced practitioners sweat, especially the “Yoga Sculpt” segment. Each segment is easy to follow and not intimidating for anyone who might be new to yoga. The workouts offer modifications for both beginners and more-experienced practitioners.
The workouts can be broken up and done alone, when time is short, or all together for a more vigorous, hourlong workout.
