Acacia has partnered with one of the top health and wellness websites for a new line of DVDs.
SpeakPeople.com fitness trainer and editor Nicole Nichols leads the program in SparkPeople: 28-Day Boot Camp. The title streets Dec. 27 (order date Nov. 29) at $16.99 and will be available at Target, catalog companies, though Acacia and select retailers.
The DVD contains a 28-day plan of cardio intervals intermixed with full-body strengthening exercises. The program also features the option to choose among the 12-, 20- and 30-minute segments to customize a workout. Each segment contains three intensity levels for exercisers at different fitness levels to get started and be challenged.
Bonus features include select recipes from The SparkPeople Cookbook, tips to burn more fat, seated ab exercises to do at work, and access to free meal plans and SparkPeople’s online boot camp club. The SparkPeople Cookbook is being released in October.
This is the first customizable workout from SparkPeople, which has more than 11 million users. Called “the Facebook of dieting” by Fortune magazine, SparkPeople surpassed WeightWatchers.com in 2010, as the largest and most active site in the health and weight category, according to Acacia. The health site, which launched in 2000, has 7 million unique visits per month, more than 100 million page views and 8,000 new members joining daily.
The fitness site has released three other DVDs with Nichols, who is a certified personal trainer and exercise instructor with a degree in health education. She has more than 200,000 followers on her online boot camps and is one of the most watched exercise instructors on YouTube.
