Yamaha Electronics has lowered the price of its neoHD Media Control line of receivers and later this month will offer a new application that will allow owners of its YMC-700 receiver to control the device with an iPhone or iPad.
Yamaha’s YMC-500 is now priced at $299.95, while the price for the YMC-700 has been lowered to $499.95. The YMC-700 also can now stream music using Pandora Internet Radio.
“This significant price reduction combined with added network and control capabilities makes neoHD the only wi-fi enabled A/V receiver with full control via iPhone and iPad on the market for under $500,” said Tom Sumner, president of Yamaha Corp. of America. “We believe this news will appeal greatly to consumers who are looking to greatly simplify their home entertainment experience, while spending more time enjoying thrilling HD video and vibrant sound.”
