Popcornflix Gets iPhone, iPad Apps

Popcornflix, the ad-supported, free movie service from Screen Media Ventures, now is available on the iPhone and iPad via downloadable applications. Previously the service was available online and via the Roku media player only.
“We developed these iPhone and iPad apps to be state-of-the-art, easy and fun to use,” said Gary Delfiner, SVP of digital distribution for Screen Media Ventures. “Viewers are never more than two ‘taps’ away from hundreds of great films they can view for free.”
The service, which launched in March 2011, offers 350-plus films for free. Screen Media aims to have that number at 1,000-plus by the end of 2012.
