Social media platform informs users about movies, sellthrough and rentals via interactive pins
Netflix and Warner Bros.-owned Flixster.com and Rotten Tomatoes have partnered with social networking platform, Pinterest, to include about a movie, including cast and rating, on branded “pins.” The apps are also functional on select mobile devices.
A Pinterest pin enable registered users to find out more information about a product or idea simply by clicking on the “pin it” button instead of going to a brand’s third-party website.
Launched in 2010, San Francisco-based Pinterest has nearly 30 million registered users. Pinterest also launched “pins” merchandise manufacturers and recipes.
