DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group Feb. 25 announced the addition of four new member companies: Allied Vaughn, Entertainment One, Intel and M-Go.
The new companies represent a cross-section of the home entertainment industry, including on-demand, film and television content distribution, mobile and technology.
Allied Vaughn helped to pioneer and develop the manufacturing-on-demand business, which recently included Blu-ray Disc.
Entertainment One’s content rights cross all media formats and include more than 35,000 film and television titles, 2,700 hours of television programming and 45,000 music tracks.
M-Go, the pay-as-you-go digital entertainment joint venture between DreamWorks Animation and Technicolor, is pre-loaded on Samsung and Vizio smart TVs, Blu-ray Disc players, Wi-Fi tablets and digital media players, in addition to Intel Ultrabook devices.
Intel is the world’s largest maker of microprocessors, many of which are found in consumer electronics devices.
“The DEG welcomes its four new member companies, all of whom provide a distinct perspective on the issues facing our industry,” said Amy Jo Smith, executive director with DEG. “These companies are some of the most recognized names in the business, and we look forward to leveraging their respective areas of expertise to help reach our mutual goals.”
