The event will be held July 18-20 in Los Angeles.

On the heels of this month’s fourth annual Los Angeles Entertainment Summit, the Entertainment Merchants Association announced that the 2016 LAES will be held July 18-20 and that Bob Buchi, president, worldwide home media distribution for Paramount Pictures, will co-chair the 2016 event.
The studio lot party will be held at Paramount Studios on the evening of July 19.

More than 1,000 people from more than 80 companies participated in the summit this year, the EMA announced. The event included business meetings, a golf tournament, a studio lot party at Universal Studios, a Knowledge Exchange and a Tech Tour, including presentations on virtual reality and streaming services. John Morici of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment and Ron Kurtz of Square Enix co-chaired the event. The event also benefitted the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Mark Horak, president of Redbox, is the founder of LAES. His daughters Melissa and Michelle, who both have CF, attended the lot party, as did Sony’s Charles Cole and his wife Arathi whose son, Arjun, also has CF.

“We were very pleased with the productive business meetings at this year’s LAES, the enthusiasm that attendees had for the home entertainment business and the support that all segments of industry gave to this event,” said EMA president and CEO Mark Fisher. “More than 1,000 people participated in LAES this year, and EMA is pleased to announce that we are able to make another significant six-figure donation to CFF in conjunction with LAES.”
