CBS miniseries, which streamed on Amazon Prime Instant Video, to bow on DVD and Blu-ray Disc

CBS Home Entertainment July 21 said the first season of hit summer miniseries “Under the Dome” will be released on Blu-ray Disc and DVD Nov. 5 for $76.99 and $65.99, respectively, from Paramount Home Media Distribution.

The four-disc box sets include all 13 episodes, in addition to bonus material.

The retail street date was announced at an “Under The Dome” panel with cast and producers on the last day of San Diego Comic-Con International 2013.

“Under the Dome” is based on Stephen King’s eponymous novel, which premiered on CBS with an average 13.53 million viewers, making it the most-watched summer drama premiere broadcast on any network since CBS's “2000 Malibu Road” in 1992, according to the network.

The series centers on a small town that is inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. The town’s inhabitants must deal with surviving the post-apocalyptic conditions while searching for answers about the dome, where it came from and if and when it will go away.

“Dome” stars Dean Norris (“Breaking Bad”) and Rachelle Lefevre (“The Twilight Saga”), among others.

Amazon, which streamed episodes of “Dome” four days after initial broadcast through an exclusive SVOD license agreement, will also offer a deluxe Blu-ray edition in special dome-shaped packaging, with exclusive special features.

Also at Comic-Con, Paramount and CBS announced Beauty & The Beast: The First Season will make its way to DVD Oct. 1.

The six-disc set ($54.99) will include all 22 episodes, plus commentaries and featurettes. The series stars Kristen Kreuk and Jay Ryan.
